Research & Service Mapping Analyst - Contract - 19166 About the Opportunity Our not-for-profit client is seeking two Research & Service Mapping Analysts to support a national Health Canada-funded initiative focused on improving access to culturally responsive substance use and addiction services for communities across Canada.
Working as part of a dedicated project team, the successful candidates will play a key role in identifying, researching, validating, and mapping substance use and harm reduction services across the country. The information gathered will form the foundation of a new bilingual digital navigation platform designed to help individuals, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations locate culturally responsive services and supports.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in healthcare research, public health, addictions, harm reduction, social services, community-based research, program evaluation, or service mapping who are passionate about health equity and community impact.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct environmental scans and research to identify culturally responsive substance use and addiction services across Canada
- Map service providers, programs, referral pathways, eligibility requirements, and access points
- Compile, organize, validate, and maintain a national directory of services and resources
- Contact service providers and community organizations to verify information and ensure data accuracy
- Support consultations and engagement activities by documenting discussions, capturing key themes, and organizing research findings
- Analyze qualitative feedback from interviews, consultations, focus groups, and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Synthesize research findings into reports, briefing materials, summaries, recommendations, and project deliverables
- Maintain datasets, spreadsheets, trackers, and documentation to support project reporting and evaluation activities
- Support content population and quality assurance activities related to the digital navigation platform
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, partner organizations, researchers, healthcare stakeholders, and community groups
- Contribute to project reporting, knowledge mobilization activities, and presentations
- Ensure all research activities are conducted using culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and equity-focused approaches
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Postsecondary education in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Community Development, Research, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related discipline
- Minimum two years of experience conducting research, environmental scans, service mapping, program analysis, or related analytical work
- Bilingual (English and French) oral, written, and reading comprehension skills
- Experience collecting, organizing, validating, and maintaining complex information and datasets
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, themes, and actionable insights
- Experience synthesizing qualitative information from interviews, consultations, focus groups, stakeholder engagement sessions, or community consultations
- Strong written communication skills and experience preparing reports, summaries, briefing materials, or research products
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Experience working with marginalized communities, racialized populations, or equity-deserving groups
- Ability to apply culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-centered approaches to research and engagement activities
