About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Retail and Service Manager to lead our team at Metro Ulladulla. This role oversees the dual operations of a high-volume fuel station and a retail convenience store. This is a critical leadership position ideal for a results-driven professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing a diverse team, and achieving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise retail and console staff to ensure smooth daily operations across the forecourt and convenience outlet.
  2. Formulate and implement purchasing, marketing, and pricing policies to optimize sales for fuel and retail goods.
  3. Monitor inventory levels, manage ordering processes, and implement strict stock control to minimize shrinkage.
  4. Analyze sales data, manage budgets, and monitor KPIs to improve business efficiency and profitability.
  5. Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, including tobacco laws, food safety, and the handling of dangerous goods (fuel/LPG).
  6. Conduct staff recruitment, training, performance reviews, and manage rosters to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
  7. Maintain high standards of store presentation and visual merchandising to promote convenience products.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably within a service station or high-volume convenience environment.
  2. Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and train a team.
  3. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for handling customer escalations and supplier negotiations.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficient with POS systems, retail software, and back-office fuel management systems.
  5. Financial Literacy: Ability to manage budgets, analyze profit/loss statements, and meet business targets.
  6. Flexibility: Available to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business.
  7. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Retail Management or Business (AQF Diploma or higher preferred).
