Ace Civil Pty Ltd currently has a vacancy for the position of Architectural Draftsperson. Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2018, ACE is a full-service early works contractor working in the construction industry. Services include Asbestos Removal, Demolition, Earthworks, Civil Works, Piling, Shoring Systems and Contaminated Site Management.
Situated within the corporate structure of the Ace Group, the group is a large-scale employer in the building and construction industry and has management of numerous construction projects. We have experienced unprecedented growth in recent years which has created a number of employment opportunities.
Key tasks and responsibilities of the role:
- Lead project development through the schematic design process through production of layouts, scaled 3D renderings and detailed construction documentation;
- Prepare preliminary drafts and sketches, including drawings and specifications drafts;
- Interpret construction plans, regulatory framework and building codes of practice;
- Provide continuous support to construction and operations managers and liaise with contracted architects and surveyors in respect to project planning and organisation;
- Advise and collaborate with construction manager and operations managers, civil engineers and quantity surveyors on construction methods and materials;
- Coordinate project plans with the construction manager, operations manager and site civil engineers;
- Prepare, edit and revise project plans, site maps and development charts;
- Ensure schematic design documentation meets codes of practice, including National Construction Code and AS 1100 standards for engineering and technical drawing;
- Inspect project documentation, working documents and other materials for compliance with project specifications, industry standards and NSW regulatory requirements;
- Prepare project program and estimate time scales for running projects;
- Collect appropriate data utilising instruments and digital photogrammetric equipment;
- Plot preliminary data and perform computations of project data at relevant intervals;
- Adhere to requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) and the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 (NSW), including regular review for risks and hazards and ensure projects are subject to effective and appropriate compliance measures.
Key skills and experience required:
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher qualification, or alternatively, three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications (with overseas obtained qualifications being considered where the qualification is assessed as suitable);
- One year of relevant work experience as an Architectural Draftsperson, or alternatively, three years where applicant relies on work experience in lieu of formal qualifications;
- Operational experience and working knowledge of Foundation, Bored and CFA Piling;
- Experience with the following software packages: PLAXIS 2D, WALLAP and AutoCAD;
- Proficiency in the English language;
- Excellent communication - both written and verbal;
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
We currently have a vacancy for the position of Architectural Draftsperson. The salary on offer for the position is $95,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
