Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics (Derrimut)


 What you will be doing

With options of working in general service, heavy repairs or even our bus department across a variety of shift patterns no two days will ever be the same. Here you will work on a wide variety of Volvo, Mack and UD models from Pre-Delivery, general service, heavy repairs to the technical electrical work not forgetting our Hybrid buses.  It is an amazing opportunity to grow and become one of the best mechanics in Victoria!  

In return we ask that you work a minimum of 38 hours per week Monday – Saturday and give you the opportunity to work in one of the largest, cleanest, most advanced workshops around.   

Your main responsibilities

  • Repairs, service and inspections to engines, gearboxes, brakes, diffs etc. on a wide range of trucks and buses. ·
  • Diagnostic analysis using the latest diagnostic software and computer equipment
  • Produce clear and concise reports detailing all work carried out on repair orders including supplies used and recommendations in a prioritised order
  • Provide support and guidance to Apprentice mechanics / mechanics / trade assistants

If you have the following, APPLY Today

  • Minimum certificate 3 mechanical trade certificate/qualification
  • Experience in the Heavy Vehicle industry with experience on American, European or Japanese drivelines highly regarded but not essential
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a customer focused team
  • Current HC/HR drivers licence an advantage but not essential
  • Pride in your work with an ability to work to targets and high standards
  • High levels of motivation, reliability with a can-do, positive attitude
  • Effective communication skills with a commitment to workplace safety
  • Own tools (specialised tooling available from our inhouse tool room!)
