DevOps Engineer The mission of the DevOps Engineer is to build, secure, and maintain critical systems while also troubleshooting, monitoring, and resolving issues in an always-up always-available AWS environment. This role will be essential in using data to help design and implement new systems, software, and processes to streamline how 4Patriots does business. In Support of the Mission You will support our applications, including customer facing sales sitesinternal tools, with speed and redundancy in mind. We need a forward-thinker, someone that will research recommend new and unutilized technologies, and take advantage of the extensive services AWS offers. You will ensure that our data is valid and stored for analysis without hindering performance for the systems that collect the data. You will be working collaboratively with a cohesive team of engineers that are dedicated to creating solutions with a holistic view of our organization and getting important stuff done. Primary Responsibilities Ensure the integrity, continuity, operations, and maintenance of applications and systems o Cloud infrastructure and servers o Software applications running on the servers o Databases Maintaining and updating current software and systems o Troubleshooting issues with Legacy applications o Ensuring maximum uptime for all systems and applications o Updating and creating new features on Legacy applications Development of new software and systems to streamline the sales and back office processes Researching of new technologiesstandards to aid in the team's speed of implementation and efficiency Looking For Someone who enjoys variety in their daily work A strong sense of urgency coupled with the ability to separate the "signal" from the "noise" and focus on the critical issues quickly. Enjoys collaborating with a team to get the important stuff done SkillsExperience The ideal candidate will have the following skills experience Intermediate experience in LinuxUnix Administration General knowledge of automationconfiguration management Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services including AWS Strong software development skills and willingness to work in different languages A strong understanding of software engineering theory Understands and follows Software Development best practices Intermediate experience with MySQL A strong understanding of data structure and integrity Ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently. Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and tools. Very strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of best practices and administration operations in an always-up, always-available service Knowledge of asynchronous processing and queues
