Job Summary ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: S&T Programmatics Officers apply technical and programmatic management expertise to investigate Government and industry R&D programs, determine resource requirements, and direct activities that create customized methodologies and products to address a variety of geospatial-intelligence problems. They recommend ways to facilitate technology transfer and insertion and may develop multiple intelligence-related products and methods. They collaborate with Scientists and other experts to research advanced solutions, test products and methods, and develop new capabilities and associated tradecraft. They provide technical guidance and oversight, conduct technical outreach, and interpret technical information for non-scientific audiences. Additional Job Information ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Senior DevOps Architect for NGA Research Labs will play a strategic role in shaping the long-term direction of Research and its alignment with NGA mission objectives. She/he will provide direct support for a dynamic research team working on the latest geospatial intelligence research and products. Our team member will assess the requirements of research and development efforts, design documents, and come up with architectural approaches to continually advance geospatial processing technology. Systems and processes must be architected in a way that makes it easy for us all to collaborate and create together. Lead and provide technical advice for software development and assume the role of a technology expert in addressing issues related to systems, compatibility, and software integration. She/he will partner with team members to strategize, develop, prototype, and document features. Our ideal candidate is an architect who can articulate a vision and strategy while also guiding technical direction and articulating tradeoffs, and a delivery leader who can coordinate efforts across the team. The candidate must have the ability to build working relationships at all levels, and willingness to jump in wherever necessary to make projects successful. JOB DUTIES Increase the tech transition rate to Ops & design quality and lead the transformation of Research as a whole Identify ways to modernization Research capabilities and provide reviews on the magnitude of shortcomings and shortages in information systems, approaches to mitigate risks, resolve security alerts, and preempt possible adverse outcomes of identified weaknesses. Act as tech advocate. Use systems, cloud, and high performance computing processing skills to advise or assist on design of new applications in all Research pod areas. Apply/advise on Agile and DevSecOps methodologies. Assist/advise groups within Research responsible for Analytics/Algorithms/Applications to incorporate the following: building the service using agile and iterative practices, understand end-to-end processes, automate testing and deployments. Lead and provide guidance to teams in making them use technology appropriately. Make suggestions to Scientist and Researchers by providing them with an IT strategy and a vision for implementing and transitioning into enterprise architecture services. Lead and provide technical, strategic and procedural support to Research personnel and assist in resolution implementation. Additional Job Requirements You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility.
