Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Officer. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent organizational skills, and has a strong background in accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial records are up-to-date.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to accounts and billing.
- Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field.
- proven experience in accounting or a related role (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting).
- Proficiency in CRM software (Clear Tile and MYOB) is highly regarded, but training can be provided if necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Competency in preparing financial statements and conducting reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in handling GST/PAYG and filing tax returns, BAS, IAS
- Skills to prepare and monitor budgets, track spending, and forecast cash flows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
