Position: Senior Accountant

Role Overview:

As a Senior Accountant at Lidco, you will be integral in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly reports, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and supporting compliance efforts. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and aiding the leadership team in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
  • Month-End Close & Reconciliation: Oversee the month-end closing process, including account reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of all financial records.
  • Tax & Compliance: Manage the preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), tax returns, and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts, comparing them with actuals to identify variances and assist with corrective actions. Provide strategic financial insights based on this analysis.
  • Cost Control Per Project: Monitor and control costs on a per-project basis to ensure adherence to budgets and prevent cost overruns. Work closely with project managers to review financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Tendering Support: Assist project managers by providing financial data and actual numbers to support tendering and bidding processes.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to support business decisions through detailed financial analysis and reports.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and providing strategic insights to senior management.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Microsoft Office) and other financial tools.
  • Experience in cost control per project and ensuring projects stay within budget, with strong collaboration with project management teams.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting and month-end closing processes.
  • Excellent reconciliation and process improvement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally within a team.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
