Overview
We’re looking for a Senior WebGL Engineer to join the Brand Design Engineering team and work at the intersection of 3D graphics and web technologies. As a WebGL expert, you will bridge the gap between design and development, focusing on creating visually stunning, efficient, and highly interactive digital experiences for users. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, animators, and developers to translate creative concepts into high-performance, functional code that works seamlessly across devices.
In this role, you will collaborate with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine requirements for a scenario. You’ll leverage your expertise in WebGL, 3D rendering, and front-end development to build responsive, accessible, and performant interactive experiences and ensure that the user interface not only meets high standards of usability and aesthetics but also delivers cutting-edge visual and interactive capabilities.
You will prototype new products as efficiently as possible. Lead collaborations with Engineering for successful design implementation and performs quality checks to ensure the final design is implemented as intended. Produce high quality designs from concept to delivery.
As part of the Brand & Marketing Design team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping GitHub’s brand identity and user experience. This team includes talented designers, design engineers, illustrators, and animators who work together to create a cohesive and impactful brand presence. Your contributions will help bring GitHub’s brand to life through immersive, dynamic, and engaging experiences that delight millions of developers worldwide.

Responsibilities
Design Quality: Develop cutting-edge WebGL-based interactive experiences that align with GitHub’s brand vision. Leads collaborations with Engineering for successful design implementation and performs quality checks to ensure the final design is implemented as intended.
Visual Design: Produces high quality designs from concept to delivery. Creates needed visual design deliverables including assets, animations, and flows. Advocates for and oversees brand adherence and promotion of inclusivity principles, ensuring designs are accessible. Applies visual patterns in different interfaces (e.g., web, mobile, console, desktop applications). Produces accessible designs that consider possible scenarios and user personas.
Collaboration: Works with team members, product managers, program managers, and developers to define and iterate on new and existing product features. Collaborates with team members to deliver product design results while guiding the team’s newer members.
