We are currently looking for a quick, careful, and detail-oriented finance manager / accountant to join our team.
The ideal applicant will have a solid grasp of accounting principles, superior analytical abilities, and the capacity to function well in a hectic work setting.
You will oversee many facets of the business's financial operations as an accountant, making sure that reports are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Predict future income and expenses to assist in determining budgets and provide advice about potential areas of improvement.
- Monitor financial movements of the company and broader financial markets so as to make relevant recommendations about ways to improve financial growth.
- Carry out routine accounting duties, such as maintaining the general ledger, journal entries, and accounts payable and receivable.
- To guarantee that the financial data is accurate and comprehensive, reconcile bank statements and accounts.
- In accordance with Australian accounting standards, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- To find inconsistencies or potential areas for improvement, audit financial transactions and procedures on a regular basis.
- Work together with internal teams to support cross-functional initiatives and offer financial insights.
- Keep abreast of modifications to accounting standards and regulations to ensure adherence to pertinent legal and regulatory requirements.
- As needed, assist the management team with ad hoc tasks and projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years proven experience in accounting or finance roles in construction sector
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
