About the role:

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial health of MINISO Winky Australia Pty Ltd. This position is responsible for overseeing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The Finance Manager will ensure financial efficiency while maintaining alignment with MINISO’s global strategies, ensuring the profitability and sustainable growth of the business in the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.
  • Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the General Manager and senior leadership team on financial performance and strategic investments.

·      Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).

·      Budgeting and Cost Management:

  • Lead the budgeting process, working with different departments to develop cost-effective and strategic budgets.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to assess performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

·      Risk Management and Internal Controls:

  • Identify and manage financial risks, including currency exchange, credit risks, and operational risks.
  • Implement and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and prevent financial fraud.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and risk management strategies are in place.

·      Tax Planning and Treasury Management:

  • Oversee tax planning and compliance to optimize tax liabilities.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions and ensure efficient treasury management, including cash management and investment strategies.

·      Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Provide mentorship and training to finance staff to ensure alignment with best practices in financial management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial considerations are embedded in operational decisions.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management roles, ideally within retail, FMCG, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in Chinese as a working language is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Australian and at least one of other APAC country financial regulations, taxation, and corporate governance.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic financial decisions and operational needs.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and managing P&L statements.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading finance teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
