About the role:

Working as an integral part of our small dynamic team, this role's primary responsibility is for the accurate reporting of business transactions and information that will facilitate planning decisions for the organisation with a focus on property lending business of Aura Group. This is an autonomous role and will suit someone who is self-motivated and has the ability to manage tasks and priorities accordingly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing analysis packs based on property credit products, group performance & presenting commercial information to senior management
  • Formulating budgeting and financial forecasts for the business
  • Preparing cost management plans and conducting cost plan-fact analysis
  • Financial management reporting and analysis including end-to-end month end processing to meet deadlines
  • Review property valuation reports, identify risks and propose strategies to Investment and Credit Committee
  • Establishment of the risk management policy of the newly established Property Credit Fund
  • Liaising with various stakeholders to facilitate funds management arrangements and negotiation
  • Producing error-free accounting and financial analysis reports and present their results
  • Recommending risk management and recovery strategies to safeguard capital of the business
  • Participating in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Appraising and analysing cash flows for the group business
  • Conducting financial analyses in relation to business structure, investment and growth plans and reporting findings
  • Responsible for preparation of the monthly and quarterly performance reports to support Board reporting and Shareholder reporting
  • Supporting in compiling the annual budget with senior management
  • Performing variance/trend analysis and financial modelling
  • Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Taking part in system and process improvement initiatives

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years' of experience in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian accounting procedures and principles
  • Experience with assessment of asset lending/corporate lending facilities/fund management products
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups, pivot tables, and advanced MS Power Point skills are essential
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero, MYOB, Data Dear, Fathom, etc.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills – both verbal and written
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently towards goals in a complex/diverse environment with multiple and changing demands
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Previous experience in similar industry is highly desirable
  • Understanding of property valuation principles
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
