Angel Insurance Brokers is searching for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our growing team in Burnside, VIC!

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate Accountant to play a key role in our team's success. You'll assist with formulating financial strategies, preparing statements, conducting investigations, and offering comprehensive financial and tax advice.

Responsibilities:

?    Manage client accounts, including recording premiums, tracking payments, and processing cancellations and refunds.

?    Gain a strong understanding of insurance brokerage operations.

?    Calculate and track commissions for brokers.

?    Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payroll processing.

?    Prepare financial statements, budgeting and cost management.

?    Reconcile bank statements and analyze financial performance.

?    Assist in developing financial policies and procedures.

?    Liaise with financial institutions and brokers for fund management.

?    Maintain strong internal controls and assess financial risks.

?    Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with regulations.

?    Provide financial and tax guidance on business structures and plans.

?    Preparation and finalization of accounts for Income tax.

?    Oversee accounting systems and advise on software implementation.

Qualifications:

?    Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field, with extensive relevant experience.

?    3 + years of experience

?    Proven experience as an accountant, auditor, or similar role.

?    Strong analytical skills and a meticulous eye for detail.

?    In-depth knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

?    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB).

?    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

?    Strong computer skills with MS Office proficiency.

?    Prior experience with insurance platforms like Winbeat and sunrise (a plus).

?    Multilingual skills (preferred).

?    Certificate RG146 Insurance Broking (preferred).
